IT'S TIME TO #TURNTHETIDE
THE EVENT |
YOUR IMPACT
From little things, big things grow. Our first walk in 2017 had just 80 walkers but raised an impressive $11,000. In 2019 we had over 200 walkers and raised $19,000. In 2020, like so many others, our event was impacted by COVID-19 and so we ran a virtual event instead, with participants walking or running at a location of their choice.
Each year those funds have gone towards creating lasting impact in our community. In 2017, the money raised at the inaugural Turning The Tide Fundraising Walk went to employ a new part-time community advocate. The following year, we were able to take the brave step to employ our first Tāne (male) advocate who is working with men who are users of violence, showing them how to make the changes to life a better life. And in 2019 we were able to roll out the next stage of that holistic, wrap-around service for all whānau by funding support groups for both women and men, where we empower individuals to make better choices by focussing on their own well-being and self-worth. Thanks to everyone who has supported the Turning The Tide Fundraising Event. You are helping make the world a safer and happier for so many others. Ngā mihi nui. |
